First Prize

Euler, Lukas. *1996 (D)

Lukas Euler was born in Neustadt / a.d. Weinstrasse born. From 2012 to 2016 he was a young student at the Freiburg University of Music. Since 2016 he has been studying church music and piano with Prof. Martin Schmeding, Prof. Thomas Lennartz and Prof. Markus Tomas at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig. Since February 2020 he has been assistant organist at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. After three 1st federal prizes at “Jugend musiziert” he was multiple prizewinner in international organ competitions: 2015 2nd prize at the International Mikael Tariverdiev Organ Competition Kaliningrad / Russia, 2016 2nd prize at the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition, 2017 3rd prize Prize at the International Hermann Schroeder Organ Competition Trier, 2018 2nd prize at the FUGATO Bad Homburg organ competition. As a young student he received a scholarship from the Jürgen Ponto Foundation, and since 2017 he has been a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst. His previous concert activities have taken him not only to Germany but also to Great Britain and Russia. He was a guest a. at the Leipzig Bach Festival, the International Düsseldorf Organ Festival (IDO) and the St Albans International Organ Festival.

 

Second Prize

Brech, Adrian *2000 (D)

Adrian Brech was born in Speyer and received his first instrumental lessons on the accordion. After completing the C-Exam (with distinction) at the Episcopal Church Music Institute of the Diocese of Speyer (organ class Martin Erhard), he continued his lessons on the organ with cathedral organist Markus Eichenlaub and on the piano with Stephan Rahn. He is a multiple federal prize winner in the „Jugend-Musiziert“ competition in the organ category and received a 2nd prize in 2015 and a 1st prize in 2018 with the maximum number of points. He started studying church music at the Saarbrücken University of Music in October 2019. Since April 2020 he has been employed as an organist at the Catholic Church of St. Maria Himmelfahrt in Herxheim.

 

Young Talent Award

Liebermann, Jan * 2005 (D)

Jan Liebermann started playing the piano at the age of 7 and was trained at the Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory in Frankfurt accepted into Kenji Kato’s piano class. From 2016 he received further important pianistic impulses from Claudia Henninger in the Piano Forum Frankfurt and since 2019 he has been led by Prof. Dr. Lev Natochenny teaches in his master class at the International Piano Institute Bad Homburg. At the age of 12 he began to play the organ with Dean’s Cantor Bernhard Zosel in Kronberg and was accepted into the organ class of Prof. Carsten Wiebusch as a young organ student in the Young Academy of the HfMDK Frankfurt in the summer semester 2020. He performs regularly in concerts and church services with both the organ and the piano. Jan has been awarded several first prizes in piano and chamber music in national and international youth competitions. He is currently in the 9th grade of the Eichendorff School in Kelkheim.

 

Audience Prize

Pechenkina, Lillia *1996 (GUS)

Liliia Pechenkina was born in Perm (Russia) and first attended the Perm Music School there. Since 2016 she has been studying at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in the organ class of Prof. Daniel Zaretsky. Participation in numerous master courses and organ academies led her to Germany, Austria, Finland and the Netherlands, among others. to lecturers such as Arvid Gast, Frank Danksagmüller, Ville Urponen, Pieter van Dijk, Martin Schmeding, Ben van Oosten or Wolfgang Zerer. Liliia has won various international organ competitions, including: 1st prize in the Open Organ Festival „Золотая Лира“ Moscow 2018, 1st prize in the St. Petersburg International Organ Competition 2019, 2nd prize (1st prize not awarded) in the „All-Russian youth organ competition“ 2019, 2nd prize at the 11th Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Kaliningrad 2019. Liliia is currently performing a busy concert career as a soloist and chamber music partner.
